Press Release

The long awaited debut music album of renowned Boholano musician, Romeo Mascariñas, will officially hit the airwaves and select music stores on July 16th, 2010. Playing cover songs for the last 30 years, Romeo Mascariñas has finally decided to write and self-produced his own music by collaborating with another Boholano, New Orleans-based songwriter, Fr. J. Roel Lungay.

The collaborative journey for the Boholano tandem started at the beginning of 2009 when both came up with their first self-produced single, “Big Bang!” Followed by a series of uniquely-penned tracks such as “Unanswered Prayers,” “Love Somehow Will Find A Place In Our Hearts,” “Road To Nowhere,” “Indecision,” “I’m Totally Yours,” etc., this CD album promises an array of subject that would surely tickle the fancy of music lovers as well as rock music enthusiasts. “Big Bang!“ is undeniably a far-flung departure from the most common OPMs that hit the airwaves and music stores in recent years.

Roro Music-Bohol, the producers of “Big Bang,” has scheduled the launching of its first album with a dinner-gala at the Sandugo Ballroom, Bohol Tropics, Tagbilaran City on July 16, 2010. The event is “by invitation only.” Entertainment will be provided by Romeo Mascariñas, a No Name Band, and Boholana chanteuse, J. Ann Talisic. The evening event will be emceed by nationally-known program directress, Ardy Batoy-Araneta.

LOVE SOMEHOW WILL FIND A PLACE
IN OUR HEARTS

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

1
There’s no telling where it’ll end
There’s no saying we’re just friends
All I can say right now is don’t say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

2
I’m in no hurry I can wait
I’ll just tarry ’til it’s here
All I can do right now is not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

CHORUS:
I know what love does for you
There’s not much explaining to do
Love somehow will tickle our hearts
And settle inside [that’s why/that‘s right].
The joy that you feel inside
Is much like taking you off for a ride
Love somehow will take its flight
In joining our hearts in love.

3
I can imagine what I feel
Yet I wonder if it’s real
I’ll just close my eyes and not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

(Interlude)

(Chorus)

CODA:
I’ll just close my eyes and not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

CALL TO ALL NATIONS - MYSPACE

CALL TO THE NATIONS

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

1
Millions of people,
Counting our children,
Are dying everywhere;
Millions of others
Brothers and sisters,
Their lives like living hell.
Life doesn’t have to be this way
We’ve come a long, long way, we say.
There are so many other ways
Why can’t we start the change today?

REFRAIN:
And so I make this CALL TO ALL NATIONS
Children of the world, folks of all colors,
From east to west, to north and south,
From me to you and you to all.
Here’s my call to all humanity,
Let us rid of poverty,
Try to set all people free
And afford them dignity -
The life deserving you and me.

2
Where is our future
And where is the concord
Our hearts our longing for?
Where is the solace
And where is the peace
We all try to achieve?
Life doesn’t have to be this way
We’ve come a long, long way, we say
There are so many other ways
Why can't we start the change today?

BRIDGE:
Build a bridge of harmony,
Friendship, peace and unity;
Make a room for one another
In your mind and heart and soul.

(Refrain)

BIG BANG!

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Wait 'til you hear from me
When I come to you
With a friend or two
When I call your name
No, it’s not a game
Take a real deep breath
Coz’ I’m aiming for you!

When you open that door
‘Til the sun no more
When I count to four
Yes, you’ll think I’m a fool
When the moon comes out
And you hear me shout
Yes, you’ll open your mouth
You won't know what strike you out!

CHORUS:
Big bang! Big bang!
Big bang! Big bang!
Let this night be the night!
Big bang! Big bang!
Big bang! Big bang!
What a sight for the eyes!

Like a kid at school
I’m all over you
Everything’s a game
But I don’t feel no pain
When you see me frown
Take a hike, turn around
Now if you see me smile
Everything is worth the while.

(Chorus)

BRIDGE:
What a year it had been
Like a roller-coaster train
Life will never be the same
But never, never, say again!

(Chorus)

HERE I AM

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

I can hear the silence
When I walk into the room
I can feel the cold air
When there's really no one there
It's almost like a whisper
When I hear you call my name
I see light from a distance
And rain does start to fall.

I can see some shadows
In a darkened room
I can sense emotion
I can smell your breath.
Suddenly there's movement
Suddenly there's life
Suddenly I see you
I hear music in the air!

CHORUS:
Here I am, here I am
Here I am right before your eyes
Here I am, here I am
Yes, I am... I am, I am
I am music, music is what I am!

(Ad Lib)

Long to write some music
Long to reach your heart
Pouring out some melodies
Like an angel by your side.
Nothing more I love to hear
Than to see you there
Nothing more I ever dream
Than kiss your hair.

(Chorus)

BRIDGE:
I am here with you
Here I am, here I am
Love to be with you
Here I am, here I am
Anywhere with you
I will go be with you
Everything is new
When I really am with you

(Ad Lib)

(Chorus)

LIVING A DREAM

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

I have something to say
Feel so jumpy today
Would you listen to me?
I’m living a dream, living a dream!

At a lost for some words
Imagining at the most
Would you mind if I say
I’m a living a dream!

REFRAIN:
Give me your arms and hold me tight
Give me your hands and rest with mine
Give me your lips to kiss goodnight
Give me your heart for love like mine
Share me your dreams, let’s take a ride
Walk to the moon, it’s really nice
Reach for the stars our guiding light
Living a dream, living a dream!

You and I everyday
Friends, acquaintance, family -
I’m thankful for everything
I’m living a dream, living a dream!

So much freedom and then
Wealth of blessings I’d say
God, how lucky we are
We’re living a dream!

(Refrain)

BRIDGE:
Spread your wings, fly up to the sky
Throw your cares away and say goodnight
Rest abound, aplenty, no confines
You’re living a dream! You’re living dream!

(Refrain)

Coda:
Livin’ a dream, livin’ a dream!

UNANSWERED PRAYERS

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night
Thought of things that meant so much
For me and my wife -
Children, school and house,
Livelihood and life
I can’t stop thanking God for these
Unanswered prayers.

When I was young my dreams were
Diff’rent from what I have now
I took a lot for granted, never cared so much
Dreaming far away, I could never stay
But now I’m thankful, God
For these unanswered prayers.

REFRAIN:
[You/they] are the answer to my
Unanswered prayers
I swear to God [you/they] are my
Unanswered prayers
I may not have known
Coz I was so young and alone
But now I realize you are the answer
To my very prayers.

Funny but it seems like God
Had made plans all along
Took a lot of twists and turns,
Had to let go of my own
Funny it may seem, you know,
How lucky have I been
Now I have you all beside me,
My unanswered prayers.

BRIDGE:
God, I can’t thank enough,
You're Lord of my life
Coz I owe You so much,
I fall down on my knees
I couldn’t bear the thought of it
Had You answered all my dreams
I wouldn’t have my wife and kids
Your very answer to my unanswered prayers.

(Interlude)

(Refrain)

CODA:
But now I realize you are the answer
To my very prayers.

CAINGGET SUNSET

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

PROLOGUE:
Caingget sunset
Caingget sunset
Caingget sunset

People here just come and go
Take a dip an hour or two
Young and old, and children, too
Make their days as good as new.

Local wine, a sip or two
Hanging rice and seafood, too
Love to eat dem barbeque -
Happy faces, smiling, too!

CHORUS:
Caingget sunset -
I’d like to be the man I’d be!
Caingget sunset -
I’d like to know what’s there to do!
Caingget sunset -
I can’t believe these things are true!
Caingget sunset -
I wanna go, I wanna go!
Caingget sunset
Caingget sunset
I wanna go!

Music, singing… guitars, too!
Noises everywhere you go
Call it influence or so
Nothing matters, just be you!

Used to dive here years ago
Scream and shout, at night time, too!
Learned to sing a note or two
Wet and wild, and naked, too!

BRIDGE:
Caingget sunset! Caingget sunset!
Caingget sunset! Caingget sunset!

(Interlude)

(Chorus except last word)

CODA:
Caingget sunset!
Caingget sunset!
I wanna go!

WORKING MAN

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Monday to Friday I’m always away
Getting up early and I’m on my way
Driving to my job for fifty dollars a day
I ain’t complaining I’m a working man.
When you’re a working man
You’re always on the run
When schedules are behind
You’re catching all the time
When you’re a working man
Under the heat of a gun
You ain’t got life
Got nothing much of a chance, yeah.

CHORUS:
Yes, I’m a working man
I’m a working man.
I leave a lot behind, sometimes pretend I’m blind.
Yes, I’m a working man
I’m a working man.
A working man is hardly home
He barely eats at all.
O yeah, the working man
A good working man is a hell of a man!

Night time on Friday I go for a beer
Going home late when ready to sleep
Missus always ask me
Where the hell have I been
“Hey, wait a minute, I’m a working man!”

When you’re a working man
Under the heat of the sun
You’ve got no chance
They call you ‘son of a gun.’

(Chorus)

BRIDGE:
Saturdays and Sundays,
At home on these days
Keeping missus happy,
Eating honey all day
Church on Sunday, doing laundry,
Watching TV, oh yeah
There ain’t no stopping I’m a working man!

CODA:
Yes, I’m a working man
I’m a working man
I do a lot, you know
Sometimes pretend I’m done.
When you’re a working man
Always a working man
A working man is sometimes home
He gets to do it all
O yeah, the working man
A good working man, quite a hell of a man, yeah!

ROAD TO NOWHERE

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

There’s a highway down the road
People trav‘ling, young and old
Which direction I don’t know but I was told…
It’s called the road to nowhere.

There’s a dude in jet-black hair
With guitar and picking tunes
Where he came from no one knows
but I was told…
He came from road to nowhere.

REFRAIN:
There’s a road to nowhere
Many people standing there
Road to nowhere
I wanna do my dancing there
Like a marketplace
It’s crowded and you can’t hear
It’s a road to nowhere
Really, road to nowhere.

(Interlude)

BRIDGE:
Down that road you can’t show your face
Expect to be embraced
I was told you are on your own
Or you can hit the road!

Love to travel down that road
No return and no regrets
Love to tell my kids one day when I am old
I’ve been to the road to nowhere.

(Refrain)

CODA:
Like a marketplace
It’s full of crowd, but then
It’s a road to nowhere.
Yeah, really road to nowhere.
Like a marketplace
It’s full of crowd, but then
It’s a road to nowhere.
You bet, it's road to nowhere.

MISSING YOU

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

When you disappear
Never to come back
Quite some pourin’ tears
Did you ever think of that?

You made some enemies
They hate you oh so bad
What you gonna do,
Really hurt me bad?

REFRAIN:
Missing you, missing you, missing you
Really do, really do, really do
Please come home, please come home,
do come home
I really need your love, oh yeah!

(Interlude)

Mind is getting tired,
Eyes are getting dry,
Heart is always sad,
Wishing you come back!

Oh, please don’t make it hard
Open up your heart
Hear to what I say
I’m waiting every day!

(Refrain)

BRIDGE:
I’m really reaching out to hold you, baby, yeah
It’s just a matter of time you’ll be mine
I’m begging you, I’m begging you
Promise me, please
Don’t ever let go!

(Refrain)

INDECISION

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Indecision -
Reflects uncertainty
Prevents our moving on.
Vindication -
Excuses that we make
To hide away the truth.

Irreligion -
It's messing up the faith
It's really going deep.
Invocation -
A need to make a plea
It's a real deal.

REFRAIN:
There's no regret, no illusion
Not sign of regress or confusion
Violence feeds revolution.
Avoid bad emotion
Embrace high ambition
Life is too precious
We have to move on.

Domination -
Competition everywhere
Can't see the finish line.
Hard condition -
Imprisonment for all
We have to free ourselves.

BRIDGE:
Evolution -
With all its growing pain
Creation at its best.
Animation -
It brings us life again
A glorious day begins.

(Refrain 2x)

CODA:
Indecision -
It's something we can't keep
We need to move along.
Indecision -
No matter if it's deep
We have to move along.

MY TAGBILARAN CITY

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

It feels like a dream
A quiet I couldn't quite figure out just yet
A moment of silence that is
On a journey I know not the direction.

Peoples and machines moving
Thoughtlessly in all direction -
No visible footsteps nor clear faces -
Nothing seems to make sense
Much like waking up at dawn
For no reason at all.

The serenity just drowns on top of silence -
Silence incensed with movements -
I wonder if the gods have something
To do with all these
Quite precious it seems
I'm almost like sleepwalking.

This I conclude…

I must be awake!
I must be home!
I must be where I need to be!
And want to be!
Where I dreamt to be!
And love to be!

Not sleeping but awake!

I’M TOTALLY YOURS

Written by J. Roel Lungay, Linda Mascariñas &
Romeo C. Mascariñas

REFRAIN:
Define me love -
Is it all about crying in your arms
Or sharing a smile -
A smile that heals everything?
Is love really hard to describe
Or you just have to feel it
When it knocks on your door
All the way to your heart?

Make me or break me I’m totally yours
Gave you my heart, my everything
Yes, I’m totally yours.
What is there to give?
You are all that I live for.

My life you charmed with your dimpled smile
And the music of your laughter filled my heart
With happy songs only heaven can give
Ooh, I’m totally yours.

(Refrain)

What with tears in my eyes and joy that I feel
I sing you this song from the depths of my being
The music, lyric, poetry and you
All I know it’s love.

The time we spend together,
The moments that we’ve shared
God knows what else is there between us
Heaven knows and the angels do, and us
They make us or break us
But in my heart I’m totally yours.

Yellow is for the sun so bright
Orange is for the edge of night
Purple is for the hour of sorrow
Pink is for a new tomorrow.

Green is for the grass He made
Red is for the blood He gave
Black is for the sins we made
White is for the light He gave.

Oh colours... oh so beautiful
You make my life so full
Oh colours, all my favorites
Make everything so sweet
Oh colours, you're so precious
You make my life complete.

Much like waking up at dawn
For no reason at all.

The serenity just drowns on top of silence -
Silence incensed with movements -
I wonder if the gods have something to do
with all these
Quite precious it seems
I'm almost like sleepwalking.

This I conclude…

I must be awake!
I must be home!
I must be where I need to be!
And want to be!
Where I dreamt to be!
And love to be!

Not sleeping but awake!

MY TAGBILARAN CITY!

INDECISION

INDECISION

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Performed by J. Ann Talisic

Backup Vocals by Romeo Mascariñas & J. Roel Lungay

Indecision -
Reflects uncertainty
Prevents our moving on.
Vindication -
Excuses that we make
To hide away the truth.

Irreligion -
It's messing up the faith
It's really going deep.
Invocation -
A need to make a plea
It's a real deal.

REFRAIN:
There's no regret, no illusion
Not sign of regress or confusion
Violence feeds revolution.
Avoid bad emotion
Embrace high ambition
Life is too precious
We have to move on.

Domination -
Competition everywhere
Can't see the finish line.
Hard condition -
Imprisonment for all
We have to free ourselves.

BRIDGE:
Evolution -
With all its growing pain
Creation at its best.
Animation -
It brings us life again
A glorious day begins.

(Refrain 2x)

CODA:
Indecision -
It's something we can't keep
We need to move along.
Indecision -
No matter if it's deep
We have to move along.

MISSING YOU

MISSING YOU

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Performed by Jennifer Ann Talisic

When you disappear
Never to come back
Quite some pourin’ tears
Did you ever think of that?

You made some enemies
They hate you oh so bad
What you gonna do,
Really hurt me bad?

REFRAIN:
Missing you, missing you, missing you
Really do, really do, really do
Please come home, please come home, do come home
I really need your love, oh yeah!

(Interlude)

Mind is getting tired,
Eyes are getting dry,
Heart is always sad,
Wishing you come back!

Oh, please don’t make it hard
Open up your heart
Hear to what I say
I’m waiting every day!

(Refrain)

BRIDGE:
I’m really reaching out to hold you, baby, yeah
It’s just a matter of time you’ll be mine
I’m begging you, I’m begging you
Promise me, please
Don’t ever let go!

(Refrain)

CALL TO ALL NATIONS

CALL TO THE NATIONS

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Millions of people,
Counting our children,
Are dying everywhere;
Millions of others
Brothers and sisters,
Their lives like living hell.
Life doesn’t have to be this way
We’ve come a long, long way, we say.
There are so many other ways
Why can’t we start the change today?

REFRAIN:
And so I make this CALL TO ALL NATIONS
Children of the world, folks of all colors,
From east to west, to north and south,
From me to you and you to all.

Here’s my call to all humanity,
Let us rid of poverty,
Try to set all people free
And afford them dignity -
The life deserving you and me.

Where is our future
And where is the concord
Our hearts our longing for?
Where is the solace
And where is the peace
We all try to achieve?
Life doesn’t have to be this way
We’ve come a long, long way, we say
There are so many other ways
Why can't we start the change today?

BRIDGE:
Build a bridge of harmony,
Friendship, peace and unity;
Make a room for one another
In your mind and heart and soul.

(Refrain)

ROAD TO NOWHERE

ROAD TO NOWHERE

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

There’s a highway down the road
People trav‘ling, young and old
Which direction I don’t know but I was told…
It’s called the road to nowhere.

There’s a dude in jet-black hair
With guitar and picking tunes
Where he came from no one knows but I was told…
He came from road to nowhere.

REFRAIN:
There’s a road to nowhere
Many people standing there
Road to nowhere
I wanna do my dancing there
Like a marketplace
It’s crowded and you can’t hear
It’s a road to nowhere
Really, road to nowhere.

(Interlude)

BRIDGE:
Down that road you can’t show your face
Expect to be embraced
I was told you are on your own
Or you can hit the road!

3
Love to travel down that road
No return and no regrets
Love to tell my kids one day when I am old
I’ve been to the road to nowhere.

(Refrain)

CODA:
Like a marketplace
It’s full of crowd, but then
It’s a road to nowhere.
Yeah, really road to nowhere.
Like a marketplace
It’s full of crowd, but then
It’s a road to nowhere.
You bet, it's road to nowhere.

WORKING MAN

WORKING MAN

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Monday to Friday I’m always away
Getting up early and I’m on my way
Driving to my job for fifty dollars a day
I ain’t complaining I’m a working man.
When you’re a working man
You’re always on the run
When schedules are behind
You’re catching all the time
When you’re a working man
Under the heat of a gun
You ain’t got life
Got nothing much of a chance, yeah.

CHORUS:
Yes, I’m a working man
I’m a working man.
I leave a lot behind, sometimes pretend I’m blind.
Yes, I’m a working man
I’m a working man.
A working man is hardly home, he barely eats at all.
O yeah, the working man
A good working man is a hell of a man!

Night time on Friday I go for a beer
Going home late when ready to sleep
Missus always ask me where the hell have I been
“Hey, wait a minute, I’m a working man!”

(Interlude)

When you’re a working man
Under the heat of the sun
You’ve got no chance
They call you ‘son of a gun.’

(Chorus)

BRIDGE:
Saturdays and Sundays, at home on these days
Keeping missus happy, eating honey all day
Church on Sunday, doing laundry, watching TV, oh yeah
There ain’t no stopping I’m a working man!

CODA:
Yes, I’m a working man,
I’m a working man.
I do a lot, you know, sometimes pretend I’m done.
When you’re a working man
Always a working man
A working man is sometimes home he gets to do it all
O yeah, the working man
A good working man, quite a hell of a man, yeah!

CAINGGET SUNSET

CAINGGET SUNSET

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

PROLOGUE:
Caingget sunset
Caingget sunset
Caingget sunset

People here just come and go
Take a dip an hour or two
Young and old, and children, too
Make their days as good as new.

Local wine, a sip or two
Hanging rice and seafood, too
Love to eat dem barbeque -
Happy faces, smiling, too!

CHORUS:
Caingget sunset -
I’d like to be the man I’d be!
Caingget sunset -
I’d like to know what’s there to do!
Caingget sunset -
I can’t believe these things are true!
Caingget sunset -
I wanna go, I wanna go!
Caingget sunset
Caingget sunset
I wanna go!

Music, singing… guitars, too!
Noises everywhere you go
Call it influence or so
Nothing matters, just be you!

Used to dive here years ago
Scream and shout, at night time, too!
Learned to sing a note or two
Wet and wild, and naked, too!

BRIDGE:
Caingget sunset! Caingget sunset!
Caingget sunset! Caingget sunset!

(Interlude)

(Chorus except last word)

CODA:
Caingget sunset!
Caingget sunset!
I wanna go!

UNANSWERED PRAYERS

UNANSWERED PRAYERS

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night
Thought of things that meant so much
For me and my wife -
Children, school and house, livelihood and life
I can’t stop thanking God for these
Unanswered prayers.

When I was young my dreams were
Diff’rent from what I have now
I took a lot for granted, never cared so much
Dreaming far away, I could never stay
But now I’m thankful, God,
For these unanswered prayers.

REFRAIN:
[You/they] are the answer to my unanswered prayers
I swear to God [you/they] are my unanswered prayers
I may not have known
Coz I was so young and alone
But now I realize you are the answer
To my very prayers.

Funny but it seems like God had made plans all along
Took a lot of twists and turns, had to let go of my own
Funny it may seem, you know, how lucky have I been
Now I have you all beside me, my unanswered prayers.

BRIDGE:
God, I can’t thank enough, You're Lord of my life
Coz I owe You so much, I fall down on my knees
I couldn’t bear the thought of it
Had You answered all my dreams
I wouldn’t have my wife and kids
Your very answer to my unanswered prayers.

(Interlude)

(Repeat Refrain except last 2 lines)

CODA:
But now I realize you are the answer
To my very prayers.

LOVE SOMEHOW WILL FIND A PLACE IN OUR HEARTS

LOVE SOMEHOW WILL FIND A PLACE
IN OUR HEARTS

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

There’s no telling where it’ll end
There’s no saying we’re just friends
All I can say right now is don’t say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

I’m in no hurry I can wait
I’ll just tarry ’til it’s here
All I can do right now is not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

CHORUS:
I know what love does for you
There’s not much explaining to do
Love somehow will tickle our hearts
And settle inside [that’s why/that‘s right].
The joy that you feel inside
Is much like taking you off for a ride
Love somehow will take its flight
In joining our hearts in love.

I can imagine what I feel
Yet I wonder if it’s real
I’ll just close my eyes and not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

(Interlude)

(Chorus)

CODA:
I’ll just close my eyes and not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

LIVING A DREAM

LIVING A DREAM

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

I have something to say
Feel so jumpy today
Would you listen to me?
I’m living a dream, living a dream!

At a lost for some words
Imagining at the most
Would you mind if I say
I’m a living a dream!

REFRAIN:
Give me your arms and hold me tight
Give me your hands and rest with mine
Give me your lips to kiss goodnight
Give me your heart for love like mine
Share me your dreams, let’s take a ride
Walk to the moon, it’s really nice
Reach for the stars our guiding light
Living a dream, living a dream!

You and I everyday
Friends, acquaintance, family -
I’m thankful for everything
I’m living a dream, living a dream!

So much freedom and then
Wealth of blessings I’d say
God, how lucky we are
We’re living a dream!

(Refrain)

BRIDGE:
Spread your wings, fly up to the sky
Throw your cares away and say goodnight
Rest abound, aplenty, no confines
You’re living a dream! You’re living dream!

(Refrain)

Coda:
Livin’ a dream, livin’ a dream!

HERE I AM

HERE I AM

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

I can hear the silence
When I walk into the room
I can feel the cold air
When there's really no one there
It's almost like a whisper
When I hear you call my name
I see light from a distance
And rain does start to fall.

I can see some shadows
In a darkened room
I can sense emotion
I can smell your breath.
Suddenly there's movement
Suddenly there's life
Suddenly I see you
I hear music in the air!

CHORUS:
Here I am, here I am
Here I am right before your eyes
Here I am, here I am
Yes, I am... I am, I am
I am music, music is what I am!

(Ad Lib)

Long to write some music
Long to reach your heart
Pouring out some melodies
Like an angel by your side.
Nothing more I love to hear
Than to see you there
Nothing more I ever dream
Than kiss your hair.

(Chorus)

BRIDGE:
I am here with you
Here I am, here I am
Love to be with you
Here I am, here I am
Anywhere with you
I will go be with you
Everything is new
When I really am with you

(Ad Lib)

(Chorus)

BIG BANG!

BIG BANG!

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Wait 'til you hear from me
When I come to you
With a friend or two
When I call your name
No, it’s not a game
Take a real deep breath
Coz’ I’m aiming for you!

When you open that door
‘Til the sun no more
When I count to four
Yes, you’ll think I’m a fool
When the moon comes out
And you hear me shout
Yes, you’ll open your mouth
You won't know what strike you out!

CHORUS:
Big bang! Big bang!
Big bang! Big bang!
Let this night be the night!
Big bang! Big bang!
Big bang! Big bang!
What a sight for the eyes!

Like a kid at school
I’m all over you
Everything’s a game
But I don’t feel no pain
When you see me frown
Take a hike, turn around
Now if you see me smile
Everything is worth the while.

(Chorus)

BRIDGE:
What a year it had been
Like a roller-coaster train
Life will never be the same
But never, never, say again!

(Chorus)

BIG BANG! PROJECT

It is our hope that this musical album, BIG BANG!, expresses in some shape or form what we are trying to portray - sharing with you this exciting little adventure we’re currently undertaking, one that was almost totally unplanned, to say the least. It has been lurking around in our subconscious without us even knowing it. Needless to say, the very moment it dawned on us the direction this diversion, or attempt at songwriting, was leading us to, 'twas almost an automatic progression for us to jumpstart the engine in search for a better understanding of what the implications are, this so-called songwriting partnership got us into. Sometimes we wonder if this was just plain coincidence or perhaps some kind of providence?

Exactly a year ago the feeling was, “We’ll see.”

Today - now that our wondering has finally brought us somewhere - the delightful expression “WOW” is truly an understatement. This is something beyond what we had initially imagined. Now you’re actually reading this liner and listening to our music!!!

Needless to say, ours is a storied past.

Collaborative songwriting is a dream we never dared explore in years past when our minds were clearer, purer and still innocent; when our imaginations, ambitions and dares were ‘kinda’ at their peak.

Even though we're both musicians who grew up - and played sports - together and whose passion for music is beyond anyone’s measure and description, our respective musical journeys have never really crossed paths before, except at informal and not-so-formal gatherings where one played and the other appreciated, in the company of friends. For thirty or so something years, matter-of-factly, such life's arrangement seemed to be the soup du jour of a lifetime between the two of us, from years 1976 to 2008. Then, year 2009 came and all of a sudden, “BOOM!” (forgive me if we sound too cocky) - but like one fellow musician once told us - an à la “Lennon-McCartney / Bernie Taupin-Elton John" “meeting of the minds and hearts” almost instantaneously became the rule of the day and of our newfound fervor - writing songs together!
