WORKING MAN

WORKING MAN

Written by J. Roel Lungay & Romeo C. Mascariñas

Monday to Friday I’m always away
Getting up early and I’m on my way
Driving to my job for fifty dollars a day
I ain’t complaining I’m a working man.
When you’re a working man
You’re always on the run
When schedules are behind
You’re catching all the time
When you’re a working man
Under the heat of a gun
You ain’t got life
Got nothing much of a chance, yeah.

CHORUS:
Yes, I’m a working man
I’m a working man.
I leave a lot behind, sometimes pretend I’m blind.
Yes, I’m a working man
I’m a working man.
A working man is hardly home, he barely eats at all.
O yeah, the working man
A good working man is a hell of a man!

Night time on Friday I go for a beer
Going home late when ready to sleep
Missus always ask me where the hell have I been
“Hey, wait a minute, I’m a working man!”

(Interlude)

When you’re a working man
Under the heat of the sun
You’ve got no chance
They call you ‘son of a gun.’

(Chorus)

BRIDGE:
Saturdays and Sundays, at home on these days
Keeping missus happy, eating honey all day
Church on Sunday, doing laundry, watching TV, oh yeah
There ain’t no stopping I’m a working man!

CODA:
Yes, I’m a working man,
I’m a working man.
I do a lot, you know, sometimes pretend I’m done.
When you’re a working man
Always a working man
A working man is sometimes home he gets to do it all
O yeah, the working man
A good working man, quite a hell of a man, yeah!
